The Six-Tricks Of Written Content
The majority of website are based on a majority of written content, supported by media content in either photographic, musical or video formats.
To help get those ideas on paper, we have come up with what we call the ‘Six-Tricks of Written Content’. Basically- Who, What, When, Where, How and Why.
By applying these six questions to every facet of your business or idea, content will be very quick to get down. They are, after all, the main reasons people will visit a website- to answer any of the above questions.
Below are examples of questions that can be put to you, but quite literally the list is endless.
- Who are you?
- Who is your target market?
- Who delivers your product or service?
- Who have you worked with?
- Who are your suppliers?
- Who does you band do cover versions of?
- What do you make?
- What services do you offer?
- What is the timescale of delivery of a product or service?
- What are you opening hours?
- What makes you special?
- What special offers have you got today?
- When are you available?
- When were you established?

- How quickly do you respond to customer queries?
- How often do you update your website?

When putting your text to paper, there are a few considerations to be aware of:
- Keep your sentences short and your paragraphs brief
- Make use of headings, and make sure they are relevant to the topic
- Use things like lists to get your point across
As the media you are writing for is screen rather than print, the above pointers will help you create content that should be both informative and relevant, as well as easy on the eye.
